| What is a "3 chip" or "3 ccd" camera, and why does that matter? |
|
Answer: Professional video cameras split visible light into the three primary colors Red, Green, Blue, and record each color on a dedicated sensor. That means the colors will be accurate and vibrant on a professional camera. Most consumer level cameras, even high definition cameras like the Canon HV30, still only use 1 sensor (called a CCD or CMOS sensor). These cameras usually cannot produce as vibrant of colors as a 3CCD or 3CMOS.

Question: What is a "3CCD" camera, and why does that matter?
We shoot all our productions with 3CCD cameras. Our primary cameras are Canon GL2 cameras which are good in low light (especially compared to HD cameras) and have 3 ccd sensors for accurate colors.
